ICS exchange Conference

A conference on inclusion, communication, sustainability and social engagement that aims to explore new learning paths capable of integrating digital communication in innovative, inclusive and environmentally friendly ways. The goal is to promote the improvement of psychological, relational and environmental life through a triple helix that combines psychological studies, educational and pedagogical practices, opportunities offered by digital technology and principles of sustainability. The conference will be a space for dialogue and research dedicated to methodologies for applying social media in psychology, education and the promotion of sustainable behaviour: from the intersection between emotions, learning and ecological awareness to social and environmental commitment; from teaching, learning and assessment strategies and practices to the new frontiers of inclusion, communication, sustainability and civic participation.

Call for Applications 2026

The Learning Sciences Institute (LSi) of the University of Foggia, within the framework of the international conference ICS Exchange Europe – Sibiu 2026, hereby establishes the Scientific Award “Best Monograph” (hereinafter referred to as “the Award”).

The purpose of the Award is to recognize and promote outstanding monographic scientific contributions consistent with the thematic areas of the ICS Exchange Conference.

Two awards will be conferred at the Conference:

Best Paper Award for Researchers

Aimed at structured or experienced researchers (> 5 years of experience in scientific and academic research)

Best Paper Award for Junior Reseachers

Aimed at young researchers and PhD students (< 5 years of experience in scientific and academic research)

Book of Abstracts ICS 2026

The third edition of the ICS Exchange Conference, held in Foggia and Trani on June 10-12, 2026, has confirmed its role as an increasingly significant international scientific event dedicated to the themes of digitalisation, inclusion, and sustainability within educational and social processes. The conference is organised by the Learning Sciences Institute, the research laboratory of the University of Foggia, coordinated by Prof. Giusi Antonia Toto.
Across its three editions, the conference has recorded a steady growth in scientific contributions: from 26 presentations in the first edition to 40 in the second, exceeding 100 contributions in 2026. This progressive increase attests to the vitality of the academic community and to the consolidation of ICS Exchange as an authoritative forum for interdisciplinary dialogue and research advancement.

Inclusion, Communication & Social Engagement is a collection of contributions from the ICS conference exchange that explores the challenges, innovations and possibilities in the landscape of inclusion, communication and social engagement in the digital age. Through research and practical experiences, this collection explores how emerging technologies are transforming education and social relations in an inclusive and participatory way.
From cyber-attacks targeting teachers and the threat of digital surveillance to the use of artificial intelligence and educational robotics to promote soft skills and inclusivity, each contribution examines the different faces of digital transformation, highlighting the tools and skills needed to address it.

Conference Proceedings
ICS 2024

The digital revolution has radically transformed modes of communication, relationships, and learning, posing new challenges but also offering unprecedented opportunities. This book constitutes the proceedings of the First International Conference on Inclusion, Communication and Social Engagement, ICS exchange 2024, which deals with the future of the inclusion paradigm in education, approaching the topic from multiple perspectives: psychology, education, inclusion, social engagement, communication, and learning & technologies. The 33 full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 51 submissions. The research presented here highlights the importance of integrating technologies, active methodologies, and inclusive assessment tools into initial and ongoing training programs.

This European Edition of ICS exchange is free, thus no fee is required. It is open to all researchers, including early stage researchers, that are encouraged to apply. Indeed, ICS exchange aims to promote a community of practice in this field, offering different perspectives from multidisciplinary fields (e.g. psychology, education, communication).

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The full papers are welcome.
